很多英语中的中文外来词都来自于粤语（广东的小伙伴们快挥挥手），其拼写与普通话也大不相同，要看菜单猜什么菜也是蛮难的。虽说一般中餐馆都有亚裔服务员，但不怕一万就怕万一，要是没有中国服务员帮忙，你确定你看得懂中餐馆的菜单嘛？
今天就来看看去中餐馆点餐必备的一些来自粤语的英语词。（清晨放毒，以下内容可能会引起不适，大家记得吃早餐哦）
bok choy白菜
来自粤语，也叫Chinese cabbage.
chow 炒
等于Stir fry。stir是搅拌，fry是炒，合起来stir-fry就是用大火炒、快炒的意思。不过chow这个词基本只会出现在中餐馆的菜单上，平时要表达炒的话还是用fry。
chow mein 炒面
chow fun 炒粉
而炒饭因为外国人也会做，所以就直接称为fried rice啦。
与chow mein (crispy noodle) 相对应的有 lo mein (soft noodle) 捞面

moo goo gai pan 蘑菇鸡片
The Americanizedversion of a Cantonesedish, usually a simple stir-frieddish consisting of sliced or cubed chicken 鸡肉片／鸡丁with white button mushrooms 蘑菇and other vegetables. Popular vegetable additions include snow peas 糖荚豌豆, bamboo shoots, water chestnutsand Chinese cabbage.
mu shu pork 木须肉
In its traditional Chinese version, moo shu pork consists of sliced pork tenderloin 猪里脊肉, cucumber, and scrambled eggs, stir fried in sesameor peanut oil花生油together with thinly sliced wood ear mushrooms (black fungus) 木耳and enokitakemushrooms 金针菇. The dish is seasoned with minced gingerand garlic, scallions, soy sauce, and rice cooking wine 米酒.
General Tso's chicken 左宗棠鸡
chunks of chicken that are dipped in a batter and deep-fried and seasoned with ginger 姜, garlic 蒜, sesame oil 芝麻油, scallions 葱, and hot chili peppers 辣椒. Believed to be named after Qing Dynastystatesman and military leader Zuo Zongtang, often referred to as General Tso.
还有一样压轴小“菜“－－Fortune cookie 幸运饼干/福饼
Invented in Californiaas a westernized version of the Japanese senbei（也就是“仙贝“，英语中叫rice cracker米饼干）, fortune cookies have become sweetened and found their way to many American Chinese restaurants. 严格意义上来讲不算一道菜。不过有中餐的地方就有它，中间掰开后会有一张小纸条，有些会一面写一句类似fortune-telling的话，另一面写上幸运数字；有些只有幸运数字。
