据海外网报道，近10年来，美国枪击案爆发频率越来越高，枪支暴力事件远超世界上其他发达国家。据英国《卫报》10月份公布的一项统计结果，美国人拥有约2.65亿支枪，每位成年人都有超过1支枪，平均每10天有9天是枪击日。
媒体大力报道的多为大规模的枪击案件，但是危险却随时有可能发生在普通人的身边。就在上周，在美国探望儿子的74岁中国退休老人王如新(音译)在出门取回垃圾桶 (小编注：此处应为将装有垃圾的垃圾桶置于门前，由负责清运的公司清理完毕后，住户自行将垃圾桶取回) 时突然遭到枪击，不幸身亡。据当地媒体WKRN报道：

A 74-year-old man who had only lived in Nashville a few months was shot and killed Thursday afternoon while collecting his trash can from outside his South Nashville home.
一名在田纳西州纳什维尔市南部仅居住了几个月的74岁老人，于周四(当地时间11月9日)下午出门取回垃圾桶时遭到枪击，不幸身亡。
Metro police reported Ruxin Wang was shot to death at his home on Claiborne Street around 4 p.m.
当地警方表示，老人王如新(音译)于下午4时左右在其位于Claiborne街区的家门外遭到枪击后身亡。
Wang was outside his home, retrieving a trash can when shots were fired, according to police. His wife found his body.
据警方介绍，当时王如新从家里出来，正要取回清理完毕的垃圾桶时突然遭到枪击。王如新的太太发现了他的遗体。

“She heard two gunshots, and afterward she tried to look around for my dad. She came out and she saw him lying there breathless,” said the victim’s son Yun Wang.
死者的儿子王云(音译)表示，“她(我母亲)听见两声枪响，然后她环顾四周，想找到我的父亲。当她走出门外时，发现我的父亲已经躺在地上，没有呼吸了。”
Witnesses told officers several young men, possibly juveniles, were seen running from the scene to the J.C. Napier public housing development.
目击者向警方表示，当时曾看见几个年轻人，很可能是青少年人，从案发现场跑向J.C.Napier公共住房发展区。
The men were described as wearing black hooded sweatshirts and khaki pants.
根据描述，这群年轻人穿着黑色连帽运动衫和卡其色裤子。
另据当地媒体WSMV-TV报道，有邻居称自己当时试图上前帮助中枪的王如新，并且发现有8、9名年轻的黑衣男子从现场逃走。警方认为，这是非常重要的一条线索。

While talking to News 2 Friday, Yun Wang broke down in tears as he pleaded for the violence that claimed his father’s life to stop.
死者的儿子王云于周五接受News 2采访时，当场泪流满面，请求停止这种夺走了父亲生命的暴力行为。
“You look at the Las Vegas shooting, you look at the Orlando shooting [and] you think it is so far away from you, but it’s not. I couldn’t imagine [it could] happen to our family, but it does, it did,” he said.
他说，“看看拉斯维加斯枪击案和奥兰多枪击案，你以为那些都是离你很远的事情，然而根本不是。我从没想过(枪击案)会发生在我家人身上，但是它却真的发生了。”
Yun Wang said his father was a caring and compassionate man with a generous and gentle soul.
王云表示，自己的父亲是一个温和、善良、慷慨、富有同情心的人。
“It’s such a horrible crime. When my dad passed, I tried to cry, but I have [no] tears. I just don’t understand,” hesaid.
“这真是可怕的犯罪行为。当我的父亲离去时，我很想哭，却流不出眼泪。我就是想不通。”

Neighbors News 2 spoke with also said they were shocked and saddened by Ruxin Wang’s shooting death.
接受News 2采访的邻居们也表示对于王如新遭枪击身亡一案感到震惊和难过。
“I think with everything happening, the youth violence summits are serious. And we need to address these problems. We are next to a school,” said neighbor Terry Vo.
邻居Terry Vo说，“我认为随着这一切发展下去，青少年暴力行为会越来越严重，我们需要重视这些问题。我们的家就在一所学校旁边。”
Ruxin Wang and his wife moved to South Nashville about two months ago. His son said they moved to Nashville from China after retirement in search of a better life.
王如新和他的太太在大约两个月前搬到了纳什维尔市南部，他儿子表示，父亲母亲退休后从中国来到了美国，希望能享受更好的生活。
“I tried to let them enjoy their retirement [life]. I take them [traveling] across the world. I just didn’t know it would end up like this,” said Wang.
王云说，“我试着让我父母享受退休后的生活，我带他们到世界各地旅游。我就是没想到，一切会以这样的方式结束。”
据WSMV-TV报道，王如新退休前在中国教育部工作，今年9月与夫人一同前往美国探望儿子。搬到纳什维尔市之后，王如新曾表示“这里很有活力，非常喜欢”。平日里，他经常在儿子家附近骑自行车，邻居表示对他有印象。
本想在美国安度晚年，不料竟遭遇不测。目前，警方表示案件正在调查中。
